Make time for a rehearsal.
Set your limit. Say it out loud. See when to wrap up, and how far your delivery runs over.
Rehearse the whole take.
A word-count estimate is a starting point. Your pauses, examples and delivery decide the actual time. Start this timer as you begin speaking and choose Finish when you’re done.
Use Pause for a break you don’t want counted. At zero, the timer keeps going so you can see the overrun. Reset clears the attempt and lets you change the settings.
For an estimate before you speak, use the speech time calculator. To tidy your reading copy first, use the script cleaner.
Keep one eye on your time.
- On time
Keep your pace while time remains.
- Wrap up
Your chosen warning time has been reached.
- Time is up
The clock shows time beyond your target.
Each color has a written cue. There’s no alarm or microphone to interrupt your take.
Before you press Start.
How do I time a speech or video rehearsal?
Choose a preset or enter minutes and seconds. Set how many seconds should remain when the wrap-up warning appears, then select Start timer. Speak your full script, including planned pauses. Finish freezes your result and shows how far under or over the target you landed.
What happens when I run out of time?
The cue changes to “Time is up,” and the clock counts upward from zero. The timer continues until you pause, finish or reset it. A warning of 0 turns off the earlier wrap-up cue; it doesn’t stop overtime tracking.
Can I use fullscreen on my phone?
Choose Fullscreen to put just the clock and its controls in view. If the browser doesn’t support fullscreen or rejects the request, the timer uses a focus view inside the browser. Use the exit button or Esc to return. A phone’s screen can still dim or lock according to its settings.
Does it keep timing if I switch tabs?
Yes, while this page remains open. The display catches up when you return, even if background updates were delayed. Pause explicitly to exclude a break. Closing or reloading the page clears the attempt and settings. Changing your device’s clock during a run can affect the measurement.
Is my speech recorded or saved?
No. The timer doesn’t request a microphone or camera, record audio, or save attempts in browser storage. It only measures elapsed time in this tab. The website’s general analytics don’t receive your timer settings or results.
