Feature comparison

Teleprompter Pal is our pick for recording and refining a scripted take on one iPhone, without Teleo’s three-script and 60-second free gates. Teleo adds voice following and free delivery of short watermarked takes.

Teleo features below are developer-documented, not a fresh device test. Scroll sideways on smaller screens; a dash means unverified. Edition and test scope.

Teleo

Free

$0

  • Up to three scripts
  • Up to 60 seconds per 1080p take, with a small watermark

The free script list includes a banner ad. These are current advertised entitlements, not a completed recording/export check.

$29.99/year

  • Removes the free script and recording-time caps, watermark and ads
  • Up to 4K/60, camera controls, file imports and mirror mode
  • Three-day free trial advertised; check eligibility

Billed yearly; auto-renews until cancelled. The website’s rounded $2.50/month figure is an annual-plan equivalent, not a monthly commitment.

Pro Monthly

$4.99/month

The website advertises $1.99 for the first month, then $4.99/month. That is a paid introduction, not a free trial. We have not verified eligibility or the same introduction in Apple checkout. Renews automatically until cancelled.

The US App Store lists $29.99 yearly and $4.99 monthly. The website says Lifetime is no longer sold; its legacy $0.99 store row is not a current purchase recommendation.

US dollars, checked 23 October 2026. Store prices can vary by country; confirm the final offer before subscribing. Teleo’s website sells an access key for up to five devices, while Apple bills and restores Store purchases through your Apple Account. We did not buy either offer. Teleprompter Pal is not the cheaper paid plan here. Sources and test limits.

Why we’d choose Teleprompter Pal for a scripted take

You want to keep several scripts ready, record a take longer than a minute and decide on the opening and framing afterwards. Teleprompter Pal combines a set-speed reader, camera, playback and saved trim/crop edits. Those stages are free.

Its reviewed implementation has no three-script or 60-second recording gate. The editor has a 1 MB text safeguard; available storage, camera interruptions and your device still bound recording. This is a source-based comparison of limits, not a fresh long-recording benchmark.

The original stays separate from your saved edit. Reopen the changes or restore the full take and framing, then use Pro for every MP4 export and Photos, Files or Share delivery. Follow our iPhone script-recording guide or check Teleprompter Pal’s plans.

Refine the take. Keep the original.

In our saved Teleprompter Pal device check, we shortened an 11.90-second original to a 7.90-second square MP4, then restored the original length and crop. The original remained available.

Original retained
11.90 seconds
Trimmed copy
7.90 seconds
Export checked
1080 × 1080 MP4

The check also covered Photos, Files, Share Copy and reopening the edit after restarting the app. It used an internal development build. We have not performed this exact reset task in Teleo. This evidence does not establish a comparative speed, quality or reliability advantage. Read the sanitized test record.

When Teleo is the better fit

Choose Teleo if voice-following scrolling matters more than setting your own pace. Its native listing also describes pausing a take and using Retake to redo a section, Bluetooth clicker/keyboard control and script markers for pauses, emphasis and sections. We have not tested those controls or recognition accuracy.

Teleo Pro documents PDF, DOCX, RTF and TXT import, reflected text and camera controls up to 4K/60. Its free watermarked delivery and lower advertised paid prices are practical advantages. The exact saved trim/crop/original-reset task remains unverified, so the table leaves it neutral.

Its AI drafting and editing require a supported Apple Intelligence device and iOS 26 or later. That requirement is separate from the app’s iOS 18 minimum. We have not checked generated scripts, AI allowances in use, hardware remotes or a physical mirror rig.

Which Teleo and which offer?

This covers Teleo by Stanum LLC, the native iPhone/iPad app, US listing ID 6778544175. Apple’s lookup returned version 1.4.0 and iOS 18 or later on 23 October 2026. Its separate online reader and Android edition are outside this comparison.

Older store history and the legacy Premium price row can conflict with current subscription information. The current official pricing page says the one-time purchase has ended and earlier buyers keep access. We use the current annual/monthly offer, without treating a historical row as an available lifetime deal.

Teleo describes local scripts and no account. Its current FAQ and release notes qualify voice recognition: languages without a device offline model may use Apple’s servers with permission. We have not audited privacy, offline operation or language accuracy in either app.

The recording task still to test

We checked official sources and the current Teleprompter Pal implementation. No fresh Teleo recording, export or reset test was completed. The green checks for Teleo describe documented features.

For a matched trial, prepare four original scripts, including a take longer than 60 seconds. Read the same script at your usual distance, then record, save, trim, crop, reopen and try restoring its full length and framing. Note the plan, watermark, output dimensions and delivery destination in each app. Use our speech time calculator to plan the duration.

Test Teleo’s voice mode separately with pauses, a correction and a language you use. A feature being listed does not establish how well it follows speech. None of this proposed matched task has been completed; our saved Teleprompter Pal check is a different, shorter internal test.

Sources and testing

We make Teleprompter Pal. Saved internal checks, current source inspection and developer claims have different scopes.

  • Teleprompter Pal device checks, 19 October 2026. iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27.0, Teleprompter Pal 0.6.17 (37), development-signed builds. The sanitized record covers the stated edit and delivery task. It does not certify the current public binary.
  • Teleprompter Pal offer and relevant iPhone source. Inspected 23 October 2026 for script creation, the 1 MB text safeguard, camera limits, saved edits and every-delivery Pro gate. Source inspection is not a new device test.
  • Teleo official Pricing and homepage FAQ. Checked 23 October 2026 for current Free/Pro gates, USD prices, introductions, store-versus-web differences, ended lifetime sales and conditional online recognition. No checkout or functional recording test.
  • Teleo US App Store listing and Apple lookup. Checked 23 October 2026: Stanum LLC, app ID 6778544175, version 1.4.0, iOS 18+. Sources for current listed monthly/yearly amounts and developer-described recording, Retake, voice, remote and script-marker tools. Legacy Premium row does not verify a new purchase.

Questions before choosing

Is Teleo a dedicated teleprompter app?

Yes. Teleo by Stanum LLC is a native iPhone/iPad teleprompter with built-in recording and documented auto, manual and voice scrolling. This page compares that app, not its separate browser reader.

Which app is better for free recording?

Teleprompter Pal is our pick for keeping more scripts, recording beyond a minute and saving reversible trim/crop edits. Its reviewed source has no three-script or 60-second gate; the 1 MB text safeguard and device/storage limits apply. Every delivery requires Pro. Teleo advertises free delivery of up-to-60-second 1080p takes with a watermark.

Is Teleprompter Pal cheaper than Teleo?

No, not on the listed paid annual or monthly plans. Teleprompter Pal is $59.99/year or $19.99/month; Teleo lists $29.99/year or $4.99/month in the US. Teleo’s website introductory $1.99 month is not its ongoing monthly price. Check final offer eligibility and region.

Does Teleprompter Pal follow my voice?

The reviewed implementation uses set-speed scrolling. Teleo documents VoiceTrack on Free. We have not run a matched voice-recognition test or checked every supported language.

Can both apps restore the original after an edit?

Our saved internal Teleprompter Pal check covered reopening edits and restoring length and crop. Teleo documents Retake during recording, which is a different task. We have not tested its saved-video trim/crop/reset behavior and leave that unverified.

Is Teleo’s lifetime purchase still available?

The current official pricing page says it is no longer sold and existing buyers retain access. We do not treat the legacy $0.99 Premium row in Apple’s listing as proof of a currently purchasable lifetime offer.
