  • Horizontal and vertical text flips checked

No reader purchase or app installation was needed in our Mac browser check. The website also permits commercial use. We did not stress-test a maximum script length.

Recording is a separate check

The reader’s Record Video form points to a separate Teleprompter.com web recorder. We did not establish capture or export through that handoff. A free text reader does not establish free MP4 delivery, a video watermark policy or a recording allowance.

Teleprompter.com’s paid app has its own plans and capabilities. Those do not become free CuePrompter entitlements. See our separate Teleprompter.com comparison.

Your camera setup

CuePrompter’s YouTube guide describes starting the camera separately and placing the reader screen close to the lens. Any camera, stand or mirror rig is outside the $0 browser-reader offer. We have not priced a hardware bundle or tested a physical rig.

US dollars for Teleprompter Pal, checked 23 October 2026. The annual trial depends on eligibility. Free browser reading and paid video delivery are different jobs; Teleprompter Pal is not the lower-cost claim here. Sources and test limits.

Why we’d choose Teleprompter Pal for a scripted take

You have one iPhone and a take that needs a shorter opening or a square frame. Teleprompter Pal puts the script, set-speed rehearsal, camera, playback and saved trim/crop edits in that workflow. Those stages are free.

The original recording stays separate from the saved edit. Reopen the changes later or restore the full take and framing. Pro adds every MP4 export and Photos, Files or Share delivery. No account is needed for this local script and recording workflow.

That is the job we recommend Teleprompter Pal for. It supports iOS 18 and later and has a 1 MB text safeguard. Follow our iPhone script-recording guide or check Teleprompter Pal’s plans.

Refine the take. Keep the original.

In our saved Teleprompter Pal device check, we shortened an 11.90-second original to a 7.90-second square MP4, then restored the original length and crop. The original remained available.

Original retained
11.90 seconds
Trimmed copy
7.90 seconds
Export checked
1080 × 1080 MP4

The check also covered Photos, Files, Share Copy and reopening the edit after restarting the app. It used an internal development build. We have not performed this exact reset task in CuePrompter. This evidence does not establish a comparative speed, quality or reliability advantage. Read the sanitized test record.

When CuePrompter is the better fit

You already have a camera or a presentation to deliver, and only need the words on a screen. In our Mac browser check, CuePrompter accepted a pasted script and started without an account or an installed app. Its text-size, manual speed and mirror controls worked in that check.

The presentation guide describes a tablet or laptop beside the speaker. Its YouTube guide describes the reader near a separate camera. Those setups can suit someone who wants to choose their camera independently. We did not test eye contact, physical glass or a hardware remote.

The website advertises use in modern phone, tablet and desktop browsers and permits commercial reading. Our functional check was on Mac, so it does not certify the same behavior on an iPhone. If browser-only reading is your priority, our separate Free Teleprompter Online reader is another option. It is separate from the Teleprompter Pal iPhone app.

CuePrompter and Teleprompter.com are separate choices

CuePrompter identifies itself as made by Teleprompter.com. This page covers the current new free browser reader. Its App Store promotion points to Teleprompter.com’s separate app, ID 1420515755; that is not a native CuePrompter edition tested here. We did not test the old reader.

The new reader shows a Record Video button. Its form targets the separate Teleprompter.com web recorder, and our clicks did not establish a capture flow in this browser. That leaves recording, recorded-video edits, MP4 delivery and original restoration unverified. It does not prove the button fails for everyone.

CuePrompter’s guides promote voice scrolling, cloud sync and other tools under the separate Teleprompter.com offer. We have not verified voice following in the free reader. Teleprompter Pal uses set-speed scrolling; its physical mirror-rig task remains untested. A mirrored selfie preview does not establish reflected script text.

What we checked in the browser

On 23 October 2026, we opened the new CuePrompter reader in the Mac in-app browser at 1280 × 720. We pasted an original 1,294-character script across twelve paragraphs. Play moved the text; Pause returned the control to its stopped state. Both horizontal and vertical text flips changed the displayed script, and resetting them removed the transform.

Visible slider clicks changed the speed display from 10 to 26 and the text size from 58px to 106px. These are observations of controls, not a speed, accessibility or recognition benchmark. No camera or microphone permission was granted, and we completed no recording or export.

For your own trial, use the same short script in both products and pick a starting pace with our speech time calculator. Check reading at your actual distance. Then record, trim, crop, reopen and restore a take in Teleprompter Pal, noting the Pro delivery boundary. If you use CuePrompter beside a camera, check that separate setup and its recording destination. We have not completed this matched video task.

Sources and testing

We make Teleprompter Pal. Saved internal device evidence, fresh browser observations, current source inspection and developer claims have different scopes.

  • Teleprompter Pal device checks, 19 October 2026. iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27.0, Teleprompter Pal 0.6.17 (37), development-signed builds. The sanitized record covers the stated edit and delivery task. It does not certify a current public App Store binary.
  • Teleprompter Pal offer and relevant iPhone source. Inspected 23 October 2026 for local creation, reader controls, the 1 MB text safeguard and every-delivery Pro gate. Source inspection is not a new device test.
  • CuePrompter new reader, browser check, 23 October 2026. Mac in-app browser, 1280 × 720, original 1,294-character script. Checked reading, play/pause, both mirror axes and visible speed/font changes. Recording handoff did not establish capture; no purchase, iPhone device, offline, privacy or maximum-length test.
  • CuePrompter official homepage and current reader form. Inspected 23 October 2026 for free browser access, advertised devices, commercial permission, product identity and the separate recorder destination. No native app version applies to this browser edition.
  • CuePrompter guides: Teleprompter for Presentations; Teleprompter for YouTube. Checked 23 October 2026. Sources for the suggested separate-screen/camera setup and the distinction between the free reader and promoted Teleprompter.com features. Hardware and those paid features were not tested.

Questions before choosing

Is CuePrompter free?

The browser reader is $0. We pasted and read a script without signing in or buying an upgrade. That does not establish free recording, MP4 export or every feature of the separate Teleprompter.com app. Teleprompter Pal’s reading, recording and saved edits are free; every delivery requires Pro.

Can CuePrompter record video?

The new reader includes a Record Video form targeting a separate Teleprompter.com recorder. We did not establish capture through it, so recording and export remain unverified here. Its YouTube guide also describes using a separate camera. Teleprompter Pal has free built-in iPhone recording.

Does CuePrompter work on an iPhone?

The website advertises modern phone browsers. Our functional check used a Mac browser, not an iPhone. The free browser edition and promoted Teleprompter.com iPhone app are separate. Teleprompter Pal is released for iPhone with iOS 18 or later.

Can I mirror the text for a rig?

We checked CuePrompter’s horizontal and vertical script flips in the Mac browser. We did not test physical glass or an iPhone rig. Teleprompter Pal’s mirror-rig task remains unverified; a mirrored selfie preview is a different feature.

Can I restore the original after editing?

Teleprompter Pal retains its original separately. Our saved internal check restored full length and crop and reopened saved edits. The equivalent recorded-video editing/reset task in CuePrompter or its separate recorder handoff is untested.
