Teleprompter Pal vs Parrot Teleprompter

Why we’d choose Teleprompter Pal for a scripted take

A sentence needs another attempt. The opening runs too long. The frame needs to be square. Teleprompter Pal keeps the script, set-speed rehearsal, camera, playback and saved trim/crop edits together on iPhone. You can work through those stages for free.

The script and original recording stay on the phone; no account is required for this local workflow. Keep the original separately from the edit, return to the saved changes later, or restore the full take. Pro adds every MP4 export and Photos, Files or Share delivery.

That focused workflow is our reason to recommend Teleprompter Pal for this job. It supports iOS 18 and later, has a 1 MB text safeguard and uses a pace you set. See recording video with a script on iPhone and Teleprompter Pal’s plans.

Refine the take. Keep the original.

In our saved Teleprompter Pal device check, we shortened an 11.90-second original to a 7.90-second square MP4, then restored the original length and crop. The original remained available.

The check also covered Photos, Files, Share Copy and reopening the edit after restarting the app. It used an internal development build. We have not performed this exact reset task in Parrot Teleprompter. This evidence does not establish a comparative speed, quality or reliability advantage. Read the sanitized test record.

When Parrot Teleprompter is the better fit

Consider Parrot Teleprompter when you want a free reader for rehearsal or an existing camera-and-glass setup. Its official sources document landscape, portrait and mirror modes, pace and text controls, script looping and Dropbox .txt support. The app can run without buying Padcaster hardware.

If you use a compatible Parrot Bluetooth remote, the official instructions map buttons to text size, scroll speed, play/pause and returning to the previous screen. That may help when the phone is mounted beyond reach. We have not paired that remote or verified Teleprompter Pal’s compatibility with it.

Parrot Teleprompter lists iPhone and iPad support with iOS 12+. Teleprompter Pal is an iPhone app for iOS 18 and later. Choose Teleprompter Pal when you want its documented camera, playback and reversible-edit workflow on the recording phone. Parrot’s equivalent video workflow stays unverified here.

The reader, the camera and the hardware are separate decisions

This comparison covers Parrot Teleprompter by The Padcaster, LLC, app ID 1010384663. Padcaster Producer is a separate app. Producer’s camera, effects and livestreaming claims do not establish those features in Parrot Teleprompter.

Padcaster describes mounting a phone running the free reader in front of a separate camera. Its free-app page also says extra hardware is optional. That setup does not prove a built-in recording, trimming or MP4-delivery feature in the reader, so those table entries remain unverified.

Keeping scripts is different from reopening editable video or restoring its original framing. Reader mirror mode is also different from mirroring a front-camera preview. The Parrot Remote Control, the quoted Parrot Teleprompter Kit and the newer Parrot Pro kit are distinct purchases; check the exact hardware already in your setup.

Try one script through recording and export

Use the same short script, camera position and microphone. Include a pause and a repeated sentence. Set a starting pace with the speech time calculator, record a take, review it, trim the opening and choose a square crop.

Close and reopen the editable work. Check whether the full length and original framing can be restored. Try the delivery destination you need, note any payment or watermark step, and play the saved file with sound outside the app. For a Parrot rig, also check reflected-text direction, the actual camera recording, Dropbox import and each remote button. A successfully scrolled script is not yet a checked finished video.

This is a suggested common task. We have not installed Parrot Teleprompter for this comparison, paired its remote, assembled the kit or completed a matched recording/export run. Source research is not a device or hardware test.
