Feature comparison
Teleprompter Pal is our pick for free set-speed recording beyond Teleprompterly’s listed five-item allowance and for saved edits that retain the original. Teleprompterly documents free watermarked delivery and additional script and prompting tools.

$0
- Up to five scripts and recordings, per the App Store description

Listed annual offers
$39.99/year listing
- A $49.99/year entry is also listed
- Several $39.99 entries share the Yearly Pro label
- Availability and trial eligibility were not verified in checkout
These are current US listing entries, not a promise that every user gets the lowest amount. The paid feature description calls the upgrade Premium; the purchase rows use Pro.
Other listed offers
- Monthly Pro: $9.99/month
- Weekly Pro: $4.99/week and $9.99/week entries
No trial length was verified. North Studio’s terms say subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage Apple subscriptions in account settings. Confirm the specific offer and renewal amount before buying.
US dollars, checked 24 October 2026. Teleprompterly’s listed annual and monthly amounts are lower than Teleprompter Pal’s; its weekly entries include a lower example and an equal-price example. We did not inspect a paywall, start a trial or buy either app’s offer. Region, eligibility and checkout can change the choice shown. Sources and testing limits.
Why we’d choose Teleprompter Pal for a scripted take
You want to keep several scripts ready and use a steady scrolling pace while recording, then shorten the opening or change the framing. Teleprompter Pal combines those stages with free playback and saved trim/crop edits.
The reviewed implementation has no five-script or five-take gate. Its 1 MB text safeguard, available storage and device interruptions still apply. That is a source-based comparison of access limits, not a maximum-capacity or recording-performance benchmark.
The original remains separate from your saved edit. Reopen the changes or restore full length and framing. Pro adds every MP4 export and Photos, Files or Share delivery. Read the Teleprompter Pal user guide, follow the script-recording walkthrough or check current plans.
Refine the take. Keep the original.
In our saved Teleprompter Pal device check, we shortened an 11.90-second original to a 7.90-second square MP4, then restored the original length and crop. The original remained available.
- Original retained
- 11.90 seconds
- Trimmed copy
- 7.90 seconds
- Export checked
- 1080 × 1080 MP4
The check also covered Photos, Files, Share Copy and reopening the edit after restarting the app. It used an internal development build. We have not performed this exact reset task in Teleprompterly. This evidence does not establish a comparative speed, quality or reliability advantage. Read the sanitized test record.
When Teleprompterly is the better fit
You want to try a short free export with a watermark, generate a script with AI, or explore the voice-following and mirror tools described on the developer’s website. Teleprompterly also lists lower annual and monthly paid amounts. We have not verified AI quotas, recognition behavior or the plans that include voice and mirror modes.
Its website documents trimming, while the App Store description documents cropping for common social formats. Those editing features deserve credit. They do not establish whether you can reopen a saved edit and restore its original length and framing; that exact task remains untested here.
Moving the reading window, changing text size and keeping the guide text out of the video are shared benefits. Teleprompterly supports iPhone and iPad on iOS 17 or later; Teleprompter Pal’s approved release scope is iPhone on iOS 18 or later. No camera-quality, eye-contact or recognition advantage was benchmarked.
Which Teleprompterly and which claims?
This is Teleprompterly – Teleprompter by North Studio, seller NORTH STUDIO LLC, US Apple app ID 6771409020. Apple’s lookup returned version 1.3.7 and iOS 17 or later on 24 October 2026. The developer’s Teleprompterly product page links to that same app ID.
The App Store description says Free includes five scripts and recordings with watermarked export; Premium adds auto-scroll while recording and watermark removal. The developer website describes speech following, mirror mode, trimming and a saved video without a watermark, but does not assign those claims to a free or paid tier. We do not turn that blanket wording into a free watermark-free promise.
Voice following is a documented website feature, rather than an absence inferred from the shorter store description. Its plan gate and behavior in version 1.3.7 remain unverified. The same applies to mirror-rig use and AI quotas. We have not tested whether deletion resets the free allowance or whether saved edits preserve an original.
The recording task still to test
We inspected official sources and relevant Teleprompter Pal code. No fresh Teleprompterly device, paywall, recording, export or original-reset task was completed. Its green feature marks describe documentation, not a functional benchmark.
For a matched trial, prepare six original short scripts and use the same device orientation and camera. Note the allowance and whether a steady pace can scroll during free recording. Record a take, trim, crop, save, reopen and try restoring its full length and framing. Log the version, purchase state, watermark, output format and destination. Use the speech time calculator to plan a consistent script.
Test voice following and reflected text separately after confirming the relevant plan. A feature description does not establish accuracy, offline behavior, physical-rig compatibility or export quality. We have not completed this common task; the saved Teleprompter Pal check is a separate internal test.
Sources and testing
We make Teleprompter Pal. Saved device checks, current source inspection and developer claims have different scopes.
- Teleprompter Pal device checks, 19 October 2026. iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27.0, Teleprompter Pal 0.6.17 (37), development-signed builds. The sanitized record covers the stated edit and delivery task. It does not certify a current public App Store binary.
- Teleprompter Pal offer and relevant iPhone source. Inspected 24 October 2026 for script/take creation, set-speed recording, the 1 MB safeguard, saved edits and every-delivery Pro gate. This is not a new device test.
- Teleprompterly US App Store listing and Apple lookup. Checked 24 October 2026: North Studio, app ID 6771409020, version 1.3.7, iOS 17+. Sources for the free allowance, Premium-listed recording auto-scroll, watermarked export, AI/crop features and labelled US purchase rows. No checkout eligibility or actual export verified.
- North Studio Teleprompterly product page and studio homepage. Checked 24 October 2026 for same-app identity, voice following, reflection, trim and Photos saving. Feature plan gates and blanket watermark wording remain qualified against the store description.
- North Studio Terms of Use. Checked 24 October 2026 for the studio’s stated auto-renewal and cancellation terms. It does not confirm a particular in-app offer, trial or feature entitlement.
Questions before choosing
Is Teleprompterly a dedicated teleprompter app?
Yes. This page covers North Studio’s iPhone/iPad app ID 6771409020, version 1.3.7. It combines a camera and script overlay. The developer’s product page links to the same listing.
Which app is better for free scrolling while recording?
Teleprompter Pal includes its set-speed camera reader for free. Teleprompterly’s App Store description places auto-scroll while recording under Premium and caps Free at five scripts and recordings. This is a source-based access comparison, not a fresh in-app test. Every Teleprompter Pal delivery requires Pro.
Does Teleprompterly export without a watermark for free?
That is not verified. Its App Store listing says free exports have a watermark and Premium removes it. Its website describes watermark-free output without a plan label. We keep the store’s explicit free restriction visible and have not tested an export.
Is Teleprompter Pal cheaper than Teleprompterly?
Not on the listed annual and monthly paid examples. Teleprompterly lists $39.99 and $49.99 yearly, and $9.99 monthly; Teleprompter Pal is $59.99 yearly or $19.99 monthly. Weekly entries and eligibility vary. Teleprompter Pal includes free set-speed recording and reversible saved editing, with every delivery on Pro.
Does Teleprompterly follow my voice?
The developer website documents speech-following scrolling and says recognition runs on the device. We have not tested it, confirmed its plan gate or benchmarked languages and accuracy. Teleprompter Pal’s reviewed reader uses a set pace.
Can both apps restore a saved edit to the original?
The saved internal Teleprompter Pal test covered reopening edits and restoring length and crop. Teleprompterly documents trim/crop, but we have not verified that exact saved-original reset task. It remains neutral in the table.
