Why we’d choose Teleprompter Pal for a scripted take
A sentence needs another attempt. The opening runs too long. The frame needs to be square. Teleprompter Pal keeps the script, set-speed rehearsal, camera, playback and saved trim/crop edits together on iPhone. You can work through those stages for free.
The script and original recording stay on the phone; no account is required for this local workflow. Keep the original separately from the edit, return to the saved changes later, or restore the full take. Pro adds every MP4 export and Photos, Files or Share delivery.

In our saved Teleprompter Pal device check, we shortened an 11.90-second original to a 7.90-second square MP4, then restored the original length and crop. The original remained available.

When Video Teleprompter is the better fit
Consider Video Teleprompter for cue points, richer document imports, keyboard or Apple Watch control and a more configurable camera workflow. Its listing describes audio monitoring and manual exposure controls as well as 4K on supported devices. These are documented capabilities, not our hardware test results.
Its help documents a green-screen effect applied after recording against a colored backdrop. That is different from AI background removal. Auto Captions can produce subtitles or SRT files; the help describes recording-linked timing, and the listing requires a separate subscription. We have not benchmarked caption timing or recognition.
Teleprompter Pal does not include cue points, Word/PDF imports, keyboard/Watch prompting, captions or green-screen replacement in the reviewed workflow. Its 4K capability is unverified here. Video Teleprompter also supports iPad and older iOS versions. Free watermarked saving or a one-time upgrade may matter more to you than our saved-edit workflow.
Video Teleprompter, Lite and Teleprompter Pro
This page covers Video Teleprompter, app ID 1444106389, by Teleprompter Apps Ltd. Apple’s US listing identifies version 3.9.19, released 16 July 2022, requiring iOS 12 or later. The website calls its free tier Lite while linking the main app. Apple also lists Video Teleprompter Lite, app ID 1031079244, version 3.9.2. We credit the advertised free watermarked offer without treating every paid main-app feature as a Lite entitlement. The exact current free path, watermark and upgrade terms still need checking in the installed edition.
Neither an older listed release date nor an unverified editing feature establishes poorer reliability. We have not confirmed Video Teleprompter’s precise trim/crop tools, reopening of saved video edits or original-reset behavior. Those remain neutral in the table.
Try one script through recording and export
Use the same short script, camera position and microphone. Include a pause and a repeated sentence. Set a starting pace with the speech time calculator, record a take, review it and try trimming its opening and choosing a square crop.
Close and reopen the editable work. Check whether its full length and original framing return. Save to the destination you need, note any payment or watermark, and play the saved file with sound outside the app. If you need a remote or captions, include those in your trial before buying.
This is a suggested common task. We have not completed a matched Video Teleprompter device/export run, inspected an eligible purchase sheet or timed either workflow. Researching a help page does not perform its task.

Every Teleprompter Pal MP4 and Photos, Files or Share delivery requires Pro; recording and saved trim/crop edits are free. Video Teleprompter advertises free watermarked saving. Its website’s Lite terminology and the separate Lite listing mean you should verify the exact installed edition. We have not tested that free route.
Which app is cheaper?
Teleprompter Pal is $59.99/year, $19.99/month or $9.99/week. Video Teleprompter’s website advertises $59.99/year, matching our annual amount, or $159.99 once. The bundles differ and captions require a subscription according to its listing. Its eligible in-app offer was not checked.
Is Video Teleprompter the same as Teleprompter Pro?
No. The developer documents separate products: Video Teleprompter focuses on recording scripted videos; Teleprompter Pro, formerly Teleprompter Premium, serves a broader prompting setup. We compare each separately.
Can I restore the original after editing?
Teleprompter Pal retains its original separately, and our saved internal check restored the full length and crop and reopened saved edits. We have not verified that exact task in Video Teleprompter.
